A highly accurate, extra-light one-inch tweeter plays without audible breakups and handles crucial transitions with aplomb. Engineered to mate with practically any amplifier on the planetbolstered with technology that eliminates any need for frequency correction in the crossover, and rounded out with classic looks, the abilities of Spektor 2 belie its size and cost.

The Danish loudspeaker specialist DALI is currently launching one interesting new product after the other. Here, DALI has really taken care of the tonal qualities. The Danes are actually time and again surprising their fans with loudspeakers that are hardly considered possible. So a little more budget is good for even further amazement. On the one hand we have a fabric dome that is already capable of extraordinary dynamic performance due to its size and lightness, on the other hand the DALI-typical cone diaphragm of the bass-midrange driver is made of paper and — now— somewhat more subtle wood fibers.
The added value compared to Zensor is provided by technical progress, but also by the exclusive design, which is anything but cheap. How is it even possible to offer such loudspeakers for Euro each? However not, as many of its competitors do, as contract production by third-party manufacturers, but by DALI personnel with DALI quality management and ingredients developed in-house — meaning above all the drivers —, all manufactured in their own factory in China.
Sure, the 13cm driver naturally has some difficulties to reach into the deep bass ranges. However that lies is in the nature of things and is physically similar to its competitors.
DALI Oberon 1 Review
Soundwise, the smallest Oberon is an agile and crispy fresh, even somewhat cheeky and characterful speaker, whose joy of playing infects the listener. It brings the necessary energy and is a lot of fun, reminding us of the enormous class of her bigger siblings, while also having that touch of gentleness that makes even bad recordings bearable.
A great bargain! For a pair price of around Euros, DALI's Oberon delivers virtually unbelievable qualities that are strongly reminiscent of their big brothers and sisters and can be considered a huge bargain.
The lively speaker even looks attractive too! Absolutely top in this class! Price: ca. The frequency response is quite balanced, which promises neutrality. The speaker reaches down to almost 50 Hz and doesn't need to be angled. The efficiency is between average good good with just under 85 dB.
Distortion and step response are good.A quadruple test to evaluate the capacities of the new Dali Spektor range as part of both a hi-fi and a home cinema configuration. The Dali Spektor series is the entry range in the Danish manufacturer?
We listened to these loudspeakers individually except for the center speaker and in a 5. For those who are not familiar with Dalithe Danish brand was founded by Peter Lyngdorf in and proudly designs and manufactures its drivers and speakers in Denmark. The company is very productive and boasts a catalog featuring nine different speaker ranges. The Spektor series is a budget range fitted with custom-made drivers designed specifically for each speaker. Dali has always been very open about the fact that designing their own drivers with a precise type of speaker in mind makes electronic filtering a lot easier.
In other words, by mastering the response curve, impedance and phase, less components are necessary, thereby lowering production cost and offering the key advantage of minimal signal deterioration. In addition, the soundstage gains in coherence and the speakers are easier to drive. On paper, the Dali Spektor offers a well-balanced delivery. Their 6 ohm impedance rating, which the brand says is balanced from one end of the spectrum to the other, should not be a problem for hi-fi amplifiers and home cinema receivers even for models rated at 8 Ohms.
The Dali Spektor range includes three different types of bass-mids drivers. Each driver is fitted with a brick-red wood fiber pulp cone. This technology, which is also used for other ranges of Dali speakers Zensorfor examplefeatures the particularity of offering a sound free of coloration as well as a very low distortion rate thanks to its superior damping capacity Low Loss Technology.
The two plastic, soft-dome tweeters are very subtle -twice as much as a classic tweeter according to Dali- and are thus capable of reaching higher frequencies than classic dome tweeters 26 kHz. A true asset for the restitution of high-definition music. The Dali Spektor 1 is fitted with a 0. The particularity of these tweeters is their waveguide with a ribbed, partial horn, which ensures a very wide diffusion angle. Dali indicates that it is not necessary to direct the Spektor speakers towards the listening area except for the center speaker, of course in order to obtain high-precision sound placement.
The Dali Spektor 1 speaker is only 14 cm large and 23 cm tall. The extremely compact speaker boasts a low sensitivity rating 83 dB for 1 Watt and a frequency response ranging from 59 Hz to 26 kHz, which means this speaker was designed to be used in a small living room -ideally paired up with a subwoofer- or as a surround speaker. The woofer is housed in a small bass reflex enclosure. The Dali Spektor 2 speaker features a more typical design. Due to its bigger size, the Dali Spektor 2 contains more air, which means deeper lows 51 Hzwhile the 5?
The Dali Spektor 2 is more versatile than the Spektor 1 and can be enjoyed in a larger living room. Once paired up with the Dali Spektor Vokal center speaker, the Spektor 2 can even be used as the main pair of speakers in a multi-channel home cinema installation.
The Dali Spektor 6 floorstanding speaker is equipped with two 6. Reaching inside the bass reflex port with our hand, we could easily feel that the ports were very long, which means that they are tuned very low. The result is that this floorstander can dive down to 43 Hz, and above all, displays a sensitivity rating of In other words, it is twice as loud as the compact Dali Spektor models.
The Dali Spektor Vokal center speaker features two 4. The Dali Spektor Vokal benefits from a bass reflex enclosure and displays a higher sensitivity rating than the compact models from the Spektor range, with 87 dB for 1 Watt 1 m. Each speaker is made of MDF with a vinyl veneer covering the side, back, bottom and top panels.
The front panel on each model boasts a grainy leather finish. Each driver is held in place by four visible screws, except for the tweeters which use six screws: three to attach the dome to the support-horn, and three to attach the horn to the front panel. The drivers and screws are completely concealed by an acoustically transparent fabric grill.
Dali also added decoupling spikes floorstanders and rubber pads compact, center speakers. We used NorStone W cables to connect the speakers.Deals Amazon deals Bargain threads Classified adverts. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of been able to demo them where I'm based. Room is 4m x 5m and MLP is 3m from front speakers. Last edited: Mar 9, Are Bronze 1's deemed an upgrade over Minx 21's? Also can a Bronze 1 but used as a center, or just leave the Minx 21 there?
Thread title and first post updated. Which would pair best with my BK P12 and Denon ? Being rear ported the MA Speakers will require some space between them and the rear wall. I can offer very little technical knowledge on this front - but I've got MA B1's as my fronts currently - awaiting B2's to shift them backwards in my HC setup, and Spektor 2's for the living room TV - predominantly used for music or dross TV watching.
The B1's are sharper in the higher end, less warm, but very responsive and bang on for home cinema use. The Spektor 2's seem a touch deeper, more rounded, not warm but more in the middle ground. Musically I prefer them, but I've not really bothered watching anything meaningful to rate them for film use. They're a really well balanced speaker mind and what little TV content I've put through them has come over well.I have a small budget. I was wondering if anyone out there can give me an opinion on the Dali Spektor 2 speakers or the Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers.
It would be ideal if there were also someone out there who has listened to both and could tell me which they think are better. This means you will need an amplifier with at least watts per channel just for adequate listening, which is kind of ridiculous. The MA Bronze 2, on the other hand, will work well with any amp of 40 watts or more.

They also should have more bass, and also have a front port, which makes placement much less of an issue than with most speakers. Thank you for your comment regarding the sensitivity. Unfortunately my wallet does not stretch as far as the Focal Choruswhich seem to be the same number of british pounds as dollars. Your exchange rate is going to be a major issue unless you stick to UK-brand speakers, I suppose. Well, I have been and had a listen to lots of speakers paired with the Onkyo A I will comment on three.
Please excuse my lack of HiFi jargon in trying to express how they sounded.
New speakers advise
First, I listened to the Dali Spektor 2. When I saw the size of them tinyI wasn't very hopeful. They were shockingly good. I was really surprised by how much volume they were kicking out. They seemed agile and transparent and able to provide a detailed sound. On the downside, I felt that they were ever so slightly lacking in bass, and I say that as someone who despises the tendency that some people have to want bass shaking through their bones.Fuzzy logic block diagram diagram base website block
So, we then put on the Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers. I had a few tracks that I was listening to repeatedly to compare speakers. One was Katherine Jenkins.
With the Bronze 2, she suddenly had a harsh edge to her voice. The speaker was just hitting those high frequencies way too hard and generating a metallic sound. I was very disappointed. I felt like the strength of the Bronze 2 was in the detail and precision of the sound. They also had sufficient bass. However, not only was the high treble too harsh but also I don't think the treble vocal range had enough presence.
For me, there was no contest. I put the Spektor 2 back in the system and suddenly Katherine was making me go weak at the knees again.Mpdf github
A sweet sound. In the end though, I ended up buying the Dali Zensor 3. They had essentially the same type of sound as the Spektor 2 but they had the bass that was lacking in the Spektor 2.
They also seemed to be able to handle higher volumes with ease. But what I really liked about them was how they produced a much more expansive sound. It did not seem to be emanating from two little speakers on stands as it did with the Spektor 2. The origin of the sound seemed to be from somewhere in the room.
It felt like we were on stage with Katherine. I did actually get to listen to some Focal Aria speakers. Superb - the best I listened to! I also listened to some Wharfedale but they weren't quite as detailed as the Dali. With a clear heritage from our high-end series, the lightweight dome tweeter offers best in class resolution.Обзор полочной акустики Dali SPEKTOR 2
This mix paper pulp and wood fibre makes the cones stiff and light which ensures that every micro detail in the signal is reproduced unfiltered. By choosing every driver component with great care, we make sure that no signal is lost or changed on its way through the loudspeaker.
Through very low mechanical loss, the most fragile sound details, even at very low listening levels, are preserved. Only this way can we ensure that the DALI sound principles are preserved. Making sense! It even works excellently as front speaker in a 2.
Distinguished by it well-known DALI signatures such as the light and yet stiff wood fibre cones delivering a highly dynamic, detailed, and undisturbed sound reproduction, while ultra-low mass dome tweeter material ensures a widely extended frequency range. Discreet by its dimensions H: From the overall and basic properties to any detail such as the integrated wall bracket, rounded edges, and rear-mounted bass reflex port.
ZENSOR 1 simply succeeds in converting amplifier power into pure acoustical energy without loss or limitations, and it will give pleasure to your ears and eyes over and over with focused, coherent sound and a stylish, visual identity. With a clear heritage from our high end series, the lightweight dome tweeter offers best in class resolution. It features timing due to the position of the tweeter, minimised compression and increased power handling, thanks to the vented voice coil former.
The damping material under the dome minimises reflections from the pole piece. The 5. The low loss construction is ensured by a rigid metal basket and meticulously optimised cone. The result is bass authority, well-controlled reproduction of micro-detail and great transient capabilities. Since then, a lot of bookshelf speakers have appeared on the scene.
